Toro Y Moi to Play the Church Tomorrow (4/12)

Published on April 11th, 2011

Chillwave act Toro Y Moi released his second full-length album Underneath the Pine this past February. Like many chillwave groups such as Washed Out and Neon Indian, Toro Y Moi was considered one of chillwave’s founding fathers. Behind the curtains, Toro Y Moi is one person; recording as Chazwick Bundick but on stage playing with a backup band including a drummer and bassist.  The last time Toro Y Moi toured the States, Caribou brought him out to celebrate the release of Swim, with its highly acclaimed reviews. On May 9th of 2010, Caribou and Toro Y Moi played the basement of the First Unitarian Church, producing a psychedelic night of relaxation. This time, Toro Y Moi will come around for his second U.S. tour, now with Baltimore’s Adventure and Canadian shoegaze band Braids.

The all-ages show goes down tomorrow night (April 12, 2011) at the First Unitarian Church. Music starts at 7:30pm, and you can find tickets (for only $12!) here.
