PREVIEW: Flume, Cashmere Cat & Touch Sensitive @ The TLA 9/12/13

Published on September 12th, 2013

This evening, The TLA plays host to three of the most innovative rising stars in the world of electronic music. Australian producer Flume will headline along side Future Classic label-mate Touch Sensitive and Norwegian turntablist extraordinaire Cashmere Cat.

Since 2012, Flume and Cashmere Cat have been on a tear, releasing a slew of superb remixes for the likes of Lana Del Rey, 2 Chainz, Jeremiah, Disclosure, Rustie, Junior Boys, and more. In addition to flipping tracks by popular artists, these producers also excel in their original productions. Flume’s 2012 self-titled debut LP pushed the boundaries of genre and convention by blending melodic hip-hop beats with excellent vocal work and top-notch production. While Cashmere Cat has yet to release a full album of original material, his Mirror Maru EP remains one of my favorite releases from last year.

I honestly haven’t been as excited for a line-up this packed top to bottom with outstanding talent since Samo Sound Boy, Ryan Hemsworth, Daedelus, and Salva took the stage at Underground Arts back in March.

Buy your tickets here and be sure to arrive early because you don’t want to miss a minute of the music from these three performers. We’ll see you there!
