OVERWERK: The Nth Degree (FULL EP)

Published on November 30th, 2011

A few weeks ago we gave friends a taste of OVERWERK’s upcoming debut EP, The Nthº.  At last, today, we finally treat you with the full meal.

For those who aren’t familiar, OVERWERK is a solo project of electro producer Edmond Huszar. The name OVERWERK speaks to his past as a graphic designer after Huszar decided to modify his creative identity. Huszar was introduced to digital music production, which steered his musical passion towards the electronic music scene. Today, Huszar has become one of the well-respected names among EDM artists.

Over the past year, the 22-year-old has been progressively challenging the margins of genres with his elaborate remixes such as Mord Fustang’s “Magic Trooper” and Wolfgang Gartner’s “Space Junk”, which you could debate are better than the originals.  Nevertheless, it is tracks like these that demonstrate his creative ability in mixing various electro sounds.

Initially accredited for his remixes, The Nthº establishes a new level of esteem for Huszar, proving to master his craft of electro-pop by mixing multiple ingredients such as bass-heavy drops, intricate harmonics, chord progressions, bubbly synths and distorted vocal samples. In The Nthº, all these musical components crisply merge with one another, showing OVERWERK’s true musical colors of classic electro-house. From the epic intros and large amount of digital effects and modulations, it is evident that this EP has been intricately assembled, providing fans with a wonderful eargasm.
