Yeasayer recently leaked a preview of their new album Fragrant World, through NPR. The album, due to be released August 21st, undeniably showcases the bands’ unique sound, with layers upon layers of varying instrumental and vocal harmonies. The Brooklyn-based trio is a favorite indie band of mine, mostly because even if the content of a song is dark, the music itself is continually uplifting. Singer Chris Keating sticks to his familiar vocal style, but this album includes a mysterious, even eerie, accent to his lyrics. I will surely have this album on repeat for the next couple of days, and am eager to share it with anyone who will listen… including you. Here are a few particulars off the album, but catch it in it’s entirety through NPR, here! Enjoy!
“Fingers Never Bleed“
Particular favorite: “Henrietta,” with sensual drum beats and vocals resonating Robert Smith, what can go wrong?
