Making Time with Metronomy @ Voyeur 10/21/11

Published on October 23rd, 2011

The most recent “Making Time” at Voyeur Nightclub on Friday night brought to Philadelphia the English electro-pop band Metronomy. They are currently on tour for their latest album The English Riviera, opening for New York’s The Rapture. Prior to the show, neither of us was very familiar with Metronomy, but by their final song we were officially in love. Lead singer Joseph Mount was especially gracious, thanking the audience for their energy and positive reception. Fellow band members include Anna Prior on drums, Oscar Cash on keyboard, and Gbenga Adelekan on bass, whose enthusiasm could be felt from miles away. Each band member contributed to the vocals, proving their individual harmonic versatility. One of the most unique qualities of their show was the light attached to each of their shirts, which flashed to the beat of every song. Besides the fact that The English Riviera is a spectacular album, the live performance of their new tracks cemented our adoration. If you ever get a chance to see them, please do because they are worth every penny!
