Eledísco Vol. 2

Published on October 16th, 2011

With the blogosphere already engorged with low quality sampling and half-baked remixes, Eledísco yearns to provide stimulation of ear membranes at a level of experience and dexterity similar to that of a goshawk navigating the forest floor at 28 mph. That being said let me know what you think, or if you have any artists that you think I should hear contact me at the end.

The Irrepressibles – Anvil

This eclectic ten member orchestral ensemble blends the voice of vocalist and leader Jamie McDermott with tight contrapunctal strings and a theatrical ambiance unmatched by most artists.

Justice – Canon

A fantastic follow up album as a whole in my humble opinion: not strictly a continuation or even a relative to their self-titled, “Audio, Video, Disco” challenges the duo’s musical abilities without trying to emulate what the masses expected in a second Justice album. Cannon swanks complex, rhythmic guitar sounding synths patterned into melodic mathematics.

Louis La Roche – Fake Tan

Louis La Roche does it again with this vocal and obviously disco groove. Sample house has the inherent tendency to become repetitive, but Fake Tan delivers a highly addictive melody and a fat funk bass to drive it all along.

Foamo – Ocean Drive

Although you won’t find a lot of tropical influence in this repertoire, this track boasts a lead instrument that’s both distinctive and queer, surrounded in warm bass and viscous ambiance.
