Death Grips to play the First Unitarian Church (11/14)

Published on October 4th, 2012

Philly will welcome No-Cal natives Death Grips to the First Unitarian Church on November 14. Members Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett, Zach Hill and Andy Morin have been generating serious buzz as of late. The unorthodox hip-hop trio did something über-punk earlier this week. Yes, even more punk than Billy Joe Armstrong’s recent tantrum (hissy fit) in Las Vegas. After Death Grip’s label Epic Records wouldn’t release their new record until “next year sometime,” the crew put male genitalia on the album cover and released it for free streaming on SoundCloud on October 1st. The album is called No Love Deep Web and encompasses 13 tracks of mixed mayhem with gems such as “Come Up and Get Me” and “Hunger Games.” This album is their third release in the past two years, and their second of 2012.

“Come Up and Get Me”:

The slaying trio cancelled their most recent Philly show on June 12 at the Barbary in order to focus on the recording of No Love Deep Web. All fans that were snubbed back in June along with new Grip-Heads can snag their tickets for the 11/14 show on Friday, October 5th at noon.
