Artist Feature: Bachelorette

Have you ever flown through space, weightlessly caressing every star and galaxy? How about ride a dolphin through the sparkling underwater city of Atlantis? Not familiar? No worries, Annabel Alpers has encompassed all these feelings, seamlessly producing the same effect in her new self-entitled album, Bachelorette.

New Zealand native Bachelorette (Annabel Alpers) has been making music since 2005, experimenting with different forms of electro-pop. In some of her newer albums such as, The End of Things, guitarists and other outside musicians have been added which only affix more melodic layers to her already mesmerizing style.

Bachelorette’s music is just quite simply, unique. When listening to her I find myself feeling like a free spirit floating through a gateway of deep vivacious rhythms intertwined with beautiful whispery vocals. One can only imagine what it would be like to hear such dreamlike music live. Well, stop wasting your time wondering, she is now touring with The Magnetic Fields! This is an opportunity not to be missed. I’m sure if her live shows are anything like what she produces in her albums, the concert will be out of this world.

You can check out Bachelorette and listen to any of her albums here.
